Prophets Prophethood from hadith
Musa's young companion and successor, who led the Children of Israel into the Holy Land.
Yusha' ibn Nun was the young man who travelled with Musa to meet al-Khidr. A sahih hadith explaining verse 18:60 names him. After the forty years of wandering and the deaths of Musa and Harun, he led the Children of Israel into the Holy Land.
In a hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, the Prophet ﷺ told of a prophet for whom the sun was held back so that he could finish a battle before nightfall; the Musnad of Ahmad names that prophet as Yusha'. The Quran does not name him, but many commentators identify him as one of the two God-fearing men who urged the people to enter the land (5:23).
