Da'wah Shafi'i Sufism

Son of Sunan Kalijaga, who taught Islam among farmers and fishermen around Mount Muria.

Raden Umar Said, known as Sunan Muria, was by tradition a son of Sunan Kalijaga and followed his father's way of teaching through Javanese culture. Rather than the courts and ports, he chose the villages: he lived on the slopes of Mount Muria, north of Kudus, and taught farmers, traders and fishermen.

Traditional Javanese songs (tembang) such as Sinom and Kinanthi are credited to him, used to carry the teachings of Islam to ordinary people. His tomb high on Mount Muria is still visited by many.
