Da'wah Shafi'i Sufism

Son of Sunan Ampel, remembered for teaching that faith is shown in caring for the poor.

Sunan Drajat, born Raden Qasim, was a younger son of Sunan Ampel. He settled at Drajat, near Lamongan on the north coast of Java, and taught there.

He is remembered for his social teaching: that faith should be shown in caring for others, summed up in sayings to give a stick to the blind, food to the hungry, clothes to the naked and shelter to those caught in the rain. Like Sunan Bonang, he used gamelan and Javanese song in his teaching.
