Rulers Melaka Sultanate

Sultan under whom Melaka reached the height of its power and learning.

Mansur Shah, son of Muzaffar Shah, ruled Melaka at the height of its power. With Tun Perak he brought Pahang and the Sumatran states of Kampar and Siak under Melaka, and its port drew merchants from Arabia, India and China.

The Sejarah Melayu tells how he sent a question on theology to the scholars of Pasai, a sign of the learning prized at his court. Many of the famous tales of Melaka, including those of Hang Tuah, are set in his reign.
