Prophets Named in the Quran
al-Masih, born of the virgin Maryam. He was given the Injil and raised up to Allah.
'Isa was born miraculously to Maryam without a father, and he spoke from the cradle in defence of his mother. Allah gave him the Injil and miracles by His permission: healing the blind and the leper and bringing the dead to life. He called the Children of Israel to worship Allah alone.
The Quran states that he was neither killed nor crucified, but that Allah raised him up to Himself. Muslims believe he will return before the Last Day. He was the last prophet before Muhammad ﷺ, whose coming he foretold.
