أنس بن مالك

Anas ibn Malik (RA)

c. 10 BH – 93 AH · c. 612–712 CE

Companions

Servant of the Prophet ﷺ for ten years, and one of the last Companions to pass away.

When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah, Anas's mother Umm Sulaym brought her ten-year-old son to serve him. Anas served him for ten years and later said the Prophet ﷺ never once asked him why he had done something or failed to do it.

The Prophet ﷺ prayed for his wealth, his children and a long life, and all three were granted. He settled in Basra, where he narrated over two thousand hadith, and he lived until about 93 AH. Imam Abu Hanifa is reported to have seen him, which is why many count Abu Hanifa among the Tabi'in.
