Hadith
Al-Bukhari's student and compiler of Jami' al-Tirmidhi and al-Shama'il.
Al-Tirmidhi studied with al-Bukhari, who said he had benefited from his student more than his student from him. He lost his sight in later life, reportedly from weeping out of fear of Allah.
His Jami' is valued for grading each hadith and noting how the jurists acted on it, and it is one of the six canonical collections. His al-Shama'il al-Muhammadiyyah, on the appearance and character of the Prophet ﷺ, is read in gatherings around the world.
