أحمد بن شعيب النسائي

Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb al-Nasa'i
215–303 AH · 830–915 CE
Hadith
Compiler of Sunan al-Nasa'i, known for the strictest conditions after the two Sahihs.
Al-Nasa'i came from Nasa in Khurasan and lived for many years in Egypt, where he became the leading hadith critic of his time. His standards for accepting narrators were among the strictest, and some scholars ranked his collection right after the two Sahihs.
His al-Sunan al-Sughra (al-Mujtaba) is one of the six canonical collections. He also wrote Khasa'is 'Ali on the virtues of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib. Reports say he was attacked in Damascus over it in his last year.
