Hadith
Hadith master of Yemen, compiler of the Musannaf, to whom Imam Ahmad travelled.
'Abd al-Razzaq studied with Ma'mar ibn Rashid, Ibn Jurayj, Sufyan al-Thawri and Malik, and became the great hadith authority of Yemen. Scholars travelled to San'a to hear from him; Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Yahya ibn Ma'in made the journey together.
His al-Musannaf, arranged by legal topic, preserves a vast number of reports from the Prophet ﷺ, the Companions and the Tabi'in, and is one of the earliest large collections to survive.
