سلطنة فرلق

Perlak: a Muslim sultanate by tradition

c. 225 AH · c. 840 CE

Perlak (Peureulak) فرلق

A later local chronicle names Perlak, on the east coast of Aceh, as the first Muslim sultanate in the archipelago, founded in 840. The account cannot be confirmed from contemporary evidence, and historians treat it as tradition; Perlak was later absorbed into Samudera Pasai.
