Demak دماك
The Great Mosque of Demak, on the north coast of Java, is among the oldest mosques in Indonesia. Tradition holds that the Wali Songo built it together, raising its four main pillars themselves. Its tiered roof, in the Javanese style rather than a dome, became the model for mosques across the island.
